the subtitle to this piece is Levitiation, because i think this piece looks like it's floating a little.

A wonderful way of using glass like a wooden veneer. Definitely worth all the hard work!

This is facinating. If you could, explain a bit about the process? It is different glass pieces and they are fused together how? Is the entire peice then shaped to get the layers perfectly smooth?

you got it just about right. first i cut all the pieces of flat glass. then i glue them all together with a 2 part epoxy. at this point the piece looks very rough and has glue all over it, not pretty. after all the pieces are glued together i grind it into my desired shape. for this i use a wet belt sander primarily. the whole process is lot like wood lamination and sanding, except wet. feel free to ask any more questions. it's hard to get really detailed without using glass jargon.

I am just imagining the sanding taking forEVER. Anyway, the result is beautiful. I love glass. I think it is the perfect material. Thanks for the explaination.

it does take a while but if your tools are sharp it's not so bad. it's very meditative.
